There Are No Shortcuts To Success

Everyday millions of people drag themselves from their warm beds, take a shower, grab a cup of coffee, and head off to their jobs as they are thinking that there has got to be a better way to make a living. -- There has to be more to life.

Those same people, maybe even you, are reading everyday about the Internet lifestyle. Somebody who has quit the 'get-up-and-go-to-work' grind and is making a very good living working from the comfort of their own homes or traveling the world with their laptop. The Internet truly has become linked to the concept of time and money freedom.

The work from home lifestyle and the time and money freedom associated with it really sounds like an ideal solution. Many plunge head-first without proper preparation or knowledge of internet marketing, and as a result, no hope of success.

The fact is that according to many sources, more than 90% (Ninety percent) of Internet business start-ups end in failure. Yes, you read that right NINETY PERCENT! This failure rate should-be a warning to those who are considering trying to navigate the Internet maze to making a living without proper preparation and support.

Of course, success is possible. There IS that other 10% (ten percent) that do succeed. The thing is success doesn't happen by accident. And success isn't just a crap shoot. Success happens because of some very important factors. Success happens because people have the right mindset about Internet marketing and how it works. They do not expect to get rich quick or be able to make a killing over night and retire to a tropical isle.

A lot of people want an easy way and you may find those who “appear” to have made it quick but there are no short cuts to long term success.

Since you are here, you must have joined the millions who are thinking there has got to be a better way to make a living. -- There has to be more to life. Whatever your reason may be: job stress, a flexible schedule for more time with your family, health reasons, supplementing your retirement, or maybe like me, you are rebuilding from a major life event like divorce. This list can go on but in any case, Welcome……

Any guide to success in any endeavor will tell you that there is no magic formula to success. But a lot of endeavors seem to have those "insider secrets". And when taking on the challenge of earning a living online, the Internet is no different. There is one great secret, but it isn't magic or something like buy my course, read my book, etc, etc ... , and presto, you're an internet millionaire. It is a very simple process that you may already know.

"Learn from the mistakes of others. You can't live long enough to make them all yourself."
-- Eleanor Roosevelt

If you could learn the insider secrets to making a good living online that would help you make that transition.

What you need to be careful of is going into an Internet business with the idea you no longer have to get up and go to work. Thinking you can simply work when you feel like it and still make a good living. You will have to work hard and work long hours to get things off the ground.

To manage the internet maze you will need a marketing system. A process to acquire customers, including but not limited to, content marketing, SEO, paid advertising, social media marketing, and a email follow system. Once in place you will have to continuously track, test and improve your system.

So It’s strange how someone dreaming of a lifestyle of time and money freedom would start an internet business without seeking the knowledge of those that have gone before them.

But the lifestyle is more than money – Success is different for everyone but time and money freedom along with happiness in various areas of your life is key. To have success you must have an organized and systematic way of moving forward.

The key to managing information overload and distractions is to focus on one key area and build your business one step at a time. No matter where you are in the spectrum of carving out a piece of the Internet for yourself, regardless of the products or services you choose there are 7 key areas, 7 Pillars for Success. 7 Pillars that establish the foundation for your lifestyle.

Motivation & Self Improvement
Motivation & Self Improvement may seem like smoke and mirrors sometimes. It all starts with your decision to act on a dream. Then attitude, motivation, and self improvement are what give you that heart, the drive to try something new, that "figure it out" mentality, the flexibility to change or try something else. It’s what keeps you persistent until you reach your goal. You have to feed you mind with motivation, visualization, and knowledge to help you decide on your goals and stay focused to achieve them.

Health & Nutrition
Maintaining your weight & mobility with exercise & good nutrition for better health to enjoy time with your family, kids, or grandkids. Proper nutrition also help to stay mentally sharp and maintain energy for the long days and nights that are needed to be successful.

Money Management – A Tip from the great Jim Rohn
Jim Rohn: Money Habits That Separate the Rich From the Poor
It all starts with the same amount of money—just a different philosophy.

Here is an exciting thought! Why not work full time on your job and part time on your fortune? And what a feeling you'll have when you can honestly say, "I'm working to become wealthy. I'm not just working to pay my bills." When you have a wealth plan, you'll be so motivated that you'll have a hard time going to bed at night.

So if you will indulge me, I would like to share a simple formula for creating wealth. Here’s my thought on how money should be allocated.

So if you will indulge me, I would like to share a simple formula for creating wealth. Here’s my thought on how money should be allocated.

The 70/30 Rule

After you pay your fair share of taxes, learn to live on 70 percent of your after-tax income. These are the necessities and luxuries you spend money on. Then, it’s important to look at how you allocate your remaining 30 percent. Let's allocate it in the following ways: 10% Charity, 10% Savings, 10% Capital Investment (Entrepreneurship)

Entrepreneurship -
If you are new to Internet Entrepreneurship and do not have a product or service yet you may find many high priced coaching, consulting, or hired contractor type trainings. Be careful in trading your current job for a high paying (maybe) at home JOB. You will still have to market yourself to regularly acquire enough clients. You are now a like doctor or lawyer of the internet. You are trading time for money. There are only so many hours in the day and YOU can only service so many clients even if they are high paying clients. You should strive for a system with training and a mixture of a steady stream of average cost products, high ticket items, and monthly residuals (reoccurring payments). Hint, hint……..

Recreation & Relationships (R&R)
R&R -- The concept should be work to live, not live to work. So we must take a little time to relax, maybe a weekend winery getaway to recharge our batteries, an exotic travel location, or time to enjoy friends and family, and appreciate all the little things.....

Here's the Pitch
About now, here’s where the gurus will start to justify charging $1997, $997, or $497 for the is all, am all, wiz bang system to crush it on the Internet. There are some solid systems in place but if you’re new to online entrepreneurship a better way would be to focus your efforts and build your foundation one step at a time.

I’m no guru. You don’t have to attend a 2 hour webinar, call your accountant or hold your breath waiting for the high priced pitch of this week. I’m just a regular guy who truly enjoys everything about entrepreneurship. So I simply would like to pass on a handful of tools I wish I had found early on, to minimize the online clutter and help entrepreneurs like yourself get started, avoid a few costly mistakes and be successful, whatever that may mean for you.

So if you are new and don’t have a business, have an idea but not sure where to start, maybe making a little money here and there but want to scale, or maybe you want to generate leads online for your offline business, you can choose where you feel you need the most help RIGHT NOW to MOVE FORWARD.

As I mentioned before,
The key to being successful is managing distractions and focus on one key area and build your lifestyle one step at a time. No matter where you are in the spectrum of carving out a piece of the Internet for yourself, regardless of the products or services you choose there are 7 key areas, 7 Pillars for Success. 7 Pillars that establish the foundation for your lifestyle.
